Switching to Peel

Switching to Peel: what moves and what changes

Bring your customers, their cars and your open jobs into Peel from Tint Wiz, a spreadsheet, your phone or Urable. Here’s what comes over, what stays behind, and what Peel doesn’t do yet, so you can decide before you move anything.

Before: sticky notes, a paper book and phones all over the counter. After: one tablet with every job on one board.

Checked 2026-10-20.

From a spreadsheet

A spreadsheet and Instagram DMs

If your customers live in a Google Sheet or an Excel file and your leads come in by DM, this is your switch.

  1. Download the sheet as a CSV or Excel (.xlsx) file. In Google Sheets: File › Download › Comma-separated values or Microsoft Excel. In Numbers: export it as CSV or Excel.
  2. Import it in Peel (Import customers). Peel guesses each column from your header row, including names like Client, Car, Package, Quoted $ and IG handle. Fix any guess with one dropdown before you save.
  3. Check the preview. A status Peel doesn’t know, like “DM’d”, comes in as New with your word kept in the notes. Most columns Peel has no place for are kept as notes, up to 300 characters each and 1,500 in all.

Comes over to Peel

  • Each customer, with phone, email, city and ZIP
  • Their car
  • Open leads as deals on your pipeline, at the stage your sheet says
  • Your notes, and most other columns as notes (up to 300 characters each)

Stays behind

  • The DM threads themselves: they stay in Instagram
  • Deposit amounts as payments: Peel keeps them as note text, since it doesn’t take payments yet
  • Photos and the quotes you made in Canva or Docs

New DMs, calls and walk-ins after the switch: add the lead by hand on the pipeline, with the customer’s name, phone or email, and their car.

From paper and your phone

Paper, texts and your phone’s contacts

If your customers are in your phone and your schedule is on paper, start with the contacts, then the jobs that aren’t done.

  1. Export your contacts as a vCard file (.vcf). On an iPhone, select the contacts in the Contacts app and share them, or export them from iCloud.com › Contacts. On Android, export them from the Contacts app or from Google Contacts.
  2. Import the .vcf file in Peel. Each contact becomes a customer, with phone numbers cleaned up. Possible duplicates are matched for you to review.
  3. Add your open jobs by hand. Peel can’t read a paper book. Add the jobs that aren’t done yet as leads, with the car and a note, and set the install date on each booked one.

Comes over to Peel

  • Each contact’s name, phone numbers and email
  • Any note saved on the contact
  • Possible duplicates matched for you to review

Stays behind

  • Your text threads: they stay on your phone
  • Photos in your camera roll
  • Your paper calendar: add upcoming installs to Peel’s week schedule by hand

From Urable

Urable

Peel recognizes Urable’s customers and jobs exports. Urable doesn’t publish their columns, so check each column’s guess in the preview before saving.

  1. Export your customers and jobs from Urable. Urable’s pricing page lists data exporting for jobs, orders, customers and payments on every plan, for admins (urable.com/pricing, checked 2026-10-17). Its help center tells shops to export customers, products and services, jobs and orders before cancelling.
  2. Import the customers file in Peel, then the jobs file. Each job joins its customer by email or phone, with its status, total, line items and car. A scheduled job ahead becomes a follow-up on its date.
  3. Check your plan before you pick a day. Urable’s terms of service (dated 2026-06-08, read 2026-10-17) describe a 12-month term that renews unless cancelled 90 days ahead, and 30 days of access to your data after the account ends. Your own plan may differ.

Comes over to Peel

  • Each customer, with phone, email, city and ZIP
  • Their car, where the file has one
  • Each job, with its status, total and line items
  • Notes, where they came from and what they’ve spent

Stays behind

  • Photos and inspection videos
  • Builds made in Urable’s visualizer
  • Reviews and follow-up schedules
  • Cards on file and your texting number

Before you move

What Peel doesn’t do yet

If your shop runs on one of these, keep the tool that does it for now. Peel works beside it.

  • Online booking

    Not yet

Customers can’t book a time on their own before a quote. After approving one they pick a drop-off from the hours you set, if you turn that on, and you confirm it. You set each install’s date and bay, and see the week on Peel’s schedule.

  • Card payments and invoices

    Not yet

Peel doesn’t take cards or send invoices. A deposit goes through your own pay link, straight to you, and you mark it received.

  • E-signatures

    Not yet

Customers approve a quote by typing their name on it. There’s no signed document.

  • Team logins

    Not yet

One sign-in per shop. Installers and the front desk don’t get their own logins yet.

  • Texting from Peel

    Not yet

“Text the link” opens your own phone’s Messages app with the quote link. Peel doesn’t send or receive texts.

Switch day

The switch-day checklist

The week before

  1. Export everything from your old tool. Download any signed waivers or photos you need to keep.
  2. Import into Peel and check the preview: the counts, the duplicates it found and the sample rows. Then check each open job’s stage on the pipeline.
  3. Add your price list in Settings, then send one quote to your own email and open it on your phone.
  4. Set the install date and bay on each booked job, so the week schedule shows every install from switch day on.

On the day

  1. Import anything that changed since your first import.
  2. Decide where each unpaid invoice gets collected. Peel doesn’t send invoices or take cards, so finish those where they started.
  3. Cancel your old tool in writing once your last export is saved, and keep the confirmation.

No lock-in

You can leave Peel too

In Peel, Settings › Your data has a download for your customers, your deals and your quotes (Customers CSV, Deals CSV and Quotes CSV). They open in Excel, Numbers and Google Sheets. You can also delete your shop and everything in it from Settings.

Questions about switching

Can I keep my current tool while I try Peel?

Yes. Exporting a file doesn’t change anything in your old tool, and Peel never asks for its password. Keep using it for anything Peel doesn’t do yet.

Is anything sent to my customers when I import?

No. Importing sends no texts or emails. Your customers hear from you only when you send them a quote.

Can I undo an import?

Yes, for 24 hours. Undo removes what the import added, except records you’ve changed since. Before you save, Peel shows the counts and some sample rows.

What does Peel cost?

Your shop’s account is free today, with everything marked Available now. Peel isn’t for sale yet, so there’s no price to show.

I’m coming from Tint Wiz. What moves?

Contacts, projects, proposals and invoices, from Tint Wiz’s own CSV exports. The Tint Wiz page lists what comes over and what stays behind.

I use GoHighLevel or Urable. Do I have to give it up?

No. Peel doesn’t text, call, run funnels, take card payments or do inspections, so keep your current tool for those. The GoHighLevel page and the Urable page say what moves to Peel and what stays.
