Switching to Peel

Switching from GoHighLevel: what moves, what changes

For tint, PPF and ceramic coating shops whose leads run through GoHighLevel. Peel is a CRM for the work itself: customers and their cars, jobs on a board, and quotes your customer approves on their phone. You can keep GoHighLevel for texting and marketing and move the quotes and jobs.

Checked 2026-10-20.

Keep or move

What you keep and what changes

As of October 2026. GoHighLevel does much more than this list; these are the parts a tint, PPF or coating shop asks about.

Step 1

Export two files from GoHighLevel

Your contacts and your opportunities, each as a CSV file. Only an admin can export contacts. Exporting changes nothing in GoHighLevel.

  1. Pick the contact columns. In your sub-account, open Contacts › Smart Lists. The file has only the columns showing in the table, so use Manage Fields to show the ones you want, including custom fields such as your vehicle year, make and model.
  2. Export every contact. Tick the box beside the filters and choose Select All Contacts, then More › Export. When it’s done, download the file from Contacts › Bulk Actions. The download stays there for 30 days.
  3. Export your opportunities. Open Opportunities and a Smart List that shows all of them, then the menu (the three dots beside + Add Opportunity) › Export.

From GoHighLevel’s help center: exporting contacts and opportunity Smart Lists, read 2026-10-20. Each sub-account exports on its own.

Step 2

Import them in Peel

In Import customers, choose the contacts file, then the opportunities file. Peel says which GoHighLevel file it recognized, and shows the counts and sample rows before it saves.

The contacts file

  • Each contact as a customer, with phone, email and tags
  • Their car, from vehicle year, make and model columns
  • Where the lead came from, and the date they became a customer
  • Possible duplicates matched for you to review

The opportunities file

  • Each opportunity as a job on its customer, joined by GoHighLevel’s Contact ID, with its name, value and notes
  • Its stage, read from your stage name and its Won, Lost or Abandoned status
  • Two opportunities for one contact make two jobs
  • Import a newer export later and those jobs update instead of being added again
  • An opportunity moved to another contact in GoHighLevel comes in as a new job for that contact. The first customer’s job stays as it is.

Where each GoHighLevel status lands

In GoHighLevelStage in Peel
Stage named Follow upContacted
Stage named Estimate sentQuoted
Stage named Appointment bookedBooked
Stage named Job completedDone
Status WonBooked, or Done if the stage says so
Status Lost or AbandonedLost, with the lost reason in the notes

Shops name their own GoHighLevel stages. A stage Peel doesn’t know comes in as New, with your stage name kept in the job’s notes.

Stays in GoHighLevel

What can’t come over

Peel doesn’t import these, so keep them in GoHighLevel or download what you need before you cut back your plan.

  • Conversations: texts, emails and call logs
  • Tasks and appointments on your GoHighLevel calendar
  • Custom fields beyond the ones Peel maps (vehicle year, make and model)
  • Who each opportunity is assigned to: Peel keeps the salesperson’s name as a note on the job, not as an owner

Day one

Your first day in Peel

Try it beside GoHighLevel first. Nothing here changes your GoHighLevel account.

  1. Start your free account. Or look around the demo first: it’s Peel on a sample shop, with no sign-up.
  2. Import your GoHighLevel files and check the preview: the counts, the duplicates Peel found and the sample rows.
  3. Add your price list in Settings. Paste it, import a CSV, or build one with the free price-sheet builder.
  4. Send one quote to yourself. Open a job, make good, better and best options from your prices, send it to your own email and open it on your phone. A tint option with a shade, or a wrap or color-PPF option with a film from the catalog, shows on a car like yours. Approve it the way your customer would.
  5. Set an install date. On the approved job, pick the day, time and bay. It shows on the week schedule.
  6. Put the visualizer on your website. In Peel, open Visualizer and copy its one line onto your site. Quote requests from it land in Peel with the customer’s build.

Before you move

What Peel doesn’t do yet

If your shop runs on one of these, keep the tool that does it for now. Peel works beside it.

  • Online booking

    Not yet

Customers can’t book a time on their own before a quote. After approving one they pick a drop-off from the hours you set, if you turn that on, and you confirm it. You set each install’s date and bay, and see the week on Peel’s schedule.

  • Card payments and invoices

    Not yet

Peel doesn’t take cards or send invoices. A deposit goes through your own pay link, straight to you, and you mark it received.

  • E-signatures

    Not yet

Customers approve a quote by typing their name on it. There’s no signed document.

  • Team logins

    Not yet

One sign-in per shop. Installers and the front desk don’t get their own logins yet.

  • Texting from Peel

    Not yet

“Text the link” opens your own phone’s Messages app with the quote link. Peel doesn’t send or receive texts.

Switch day

The switch-day checklist

The week before

  1. Export your contacts and opportunities from GoHighLevel, with the columns you want showing.
  2. Import into Peel and check the preview: the counts, the duplicates it found and the sample rows. Then check each open job’s stage on the pipeline.
  3. Add your price list in Settings, then send one quote to your own email and open it on your phone.
  4. Set the install date and bay on each booked job, so the week schedule shows every install from switch day on.

On the day

  1. Import anything that changed since your first import.
  2. Decide where each unpaid invoice gets collected. Peel doesn’t send invoices or take cards, so finish those where they started.
  3. Decide what GoHighLevel keeps doing (texts, calls, funnels, campaigns) and change your plan there if you need less of it.

No lock-in

You can leave Peel too

In Peel, Settings › Your data has a download for your customers, your deals and your quotes (Customers CSV, Deals CSV and Quotes CSV). They open in Excel, Numbers and Google Sheets. You can also delete your shop and everything in it from Settings.

Questions from GoHighLevel shops

Do I have to stop using GoHighLevel?

No. Peel doesn’t text, call, run funnels or send campaigns, so keep GoHighLevel for those. Run your quotes and jobs in Peel. Exporting doesn’t change your GoHighLevel account, and Peel never asks for its password.

Does Peel sync with GoHighLevel?

No. Peel reads the files you export. A lead that comes in through GoHighLevel after you switch stays there until you add it in Peel or import a fresh file.

Will my texts, emails and notes come over?

Not the texts or emails: GoHighLevel’s contacts export leaves out past emails and text logs. It includes each contact’s latest note, up to 255 characters, and Peel keeps that note.

Can Peel take over my GoHighLevel lead forms?

No. Peel’s own way in is the 3D visualizer on your website, whose quote requests land in Peel with the customer’s build. Leads from your GoHighLevel forms stay in GoHighLevel.

Is anything sent to my customers when I import?

No. Importing sends no texts or emails. Your customers hear from you only when you send them a quote.

Can I undo an import?

Yes, for 24 hours. Undo removes what the import added, except records you’ve changed since. Before you save, Peel shows the counts and some sample rows.

What does Peel cost?

Your shop’s account is free today, with everything marked Available now. Peel isn’t for sale yet, so there’s no price to show.
