Boat wrap cost
What wrapping a boat typically costs in the US. The estimator and the first tables are for a 22 to 24 foot pontoon with three logs, about the size of a Sun Tracker Party Barge 22 XP3 (24 feet 2 inches long, 8 feet 6 inches wide) Sun Tracker. Further down are published prices for bowriders, center consoles, bass boats and cruisers. All are estimates from prices published by shops and film sellers, researched in October 2026, not quotes.

DIY kit instead
$800 – $830 film only
- Printed 22 ft fence kits, both sides, from PickandStick and DaVinci Wrap Masters
Before you do it yourself
- Plan on a day: one kit seller quotes a couple of hours to a day, and a graphics shop says to apply above 50 °F and out of direct midday sun.
- Take the old graphics and adhesive off first, and fix loose rivets or corrosion: film won’t hide them.
- Keep the film above the waterline.
Vinyl is thin (about 3–4 mil) color-change film with light protection.

What the published prices say
Pontoon prices from shops, film sellers and boat sellers, retrieved October 2026. Almost none says whether a “full” pontoon wrap covers the logs.
| Job | Price, and what the sources say |
|---|---|
| Fencing or select panels, by a pro | $800–$1,500 A film seller’s price for a partial wrap “focused on the fencing or select panels”. YesWrap, August 2025 |
| Installing a wrap on a typical pontoon | $1,000–$3,000 A boat seller’s figure for what professional installers charge. It lists film separately at $400–$1,200 a roll and gives no source for either. Novielli Yachts, January 2025 |
| Boat wraps at one shop | $1,275–$3,000+ A shop’s page for boat wraps in general, with a pontoon among its photos. Design, printing, lamination, install labor and removal move the price. Okoboji Graphics |
| “Full” pontoon wrap, by a pro | $2,500–$5,000 The same film seller. It puts a simple single-color wrap on a boat of about 21 feet at $2,500–$4,000. It doesn’t say whether the logs are covered. YesWrap, August 2025 |
| 20 ft bass boat or pontoon, full wrap | $3,500–$6,500 A Chicago shop’s published price. Its minimum for a full wrap is $2,850, and it doesn’t say whether a pontoon’s logs are included. Chicago Fleet Wraps, 2026 |
| Fence and gates, plus a pontoon guard | $3,400 A Lake Havasu dealer’s installed price for 3M film on the outer fence panels and gate areas, with a heavy-duty PVC Pontoon Guard on the outer edge of the pontoon. That is protection, not a color wrap of the logs. The Boat Brokers |
| Lowest figures we found, by length | $1,400–$2,400 From $1,400 for 14 feet to $2,000–$2,400 for 20 feet. A 2024 blog that names no source for its numbers, so we treat it as a low outlier. Crow Survival, August 2024 |
The logs
No shop or kit seller we found publishes a price for wrapping a pontoon’s logs alone, so the estimate leaves them out. Wraps stay above the waterline: one boat graphics shop says to avoid wrapping below it unless the film is rated for continuous submersion IPD Boat Graphics, August 2026, and its custom kit offers either the panels alone or the panels and the top of the pontoons IPD Boat Graphics.
Other boats
Hull wraps by boat size, from wrap shops and a fishing magazine. Shops quote by the foot of length or by square feet of film, so these are planning ranges.
| Job | Price, and what the sources say |
|---|---|
| Fishing boat hulls, per foot of length | $100–$150+ per foot Installed, by a fishing magazine. Doing it yourself “can save about half the cost”. Salt Water Sportsman, October 2023 |
| Boats up to 20 ft | $1,500–$3,500 A wrap shop’s planning range for a full hull color change or a simple printed design. Another guide puts hull-only wraps under 18 feet at $1,500–$2,500. Ocean Wraps, 2026 guide IPD Boat Graphics, September 2026 |
| Bowriders, 18–24 ft | $2,500–$4,500 Hull only. A full wrap with the deck and accents runs $3,600–$5,800, by a boat graphics shop that credits the bands to Wraptor’s cost guide. IPD Boat Graphics, September 2026 |
| Center consoles and fishing boats, 20–30 ft | $3,500–$7,500 The wrap shop’s band for center consoles, fishing boats and cruisers with moderate hull shapes. Another guide puts an 18 ft center console at about $1,800 and a 24 ft speedboat at $3,000 and up. Ocean Wraps, 2026 guide Upland Coast |
| Bass boats, 20 ft | $3,500–$6,500 The Chicago shop’s price for a full wrap, the same line as its pontoon price. Chicago Fleet Wraps, 2026 |
| Cruisers, 24–35 ft | $4,500–$9,500 Hull only $4,500–$8,000, full wrap $6,000–$9,500. The Chicago shop prices a 30 ft cabin cruiser at $7,000–$12,000. IPD Boat Graphics, September 2026 Chicago Fleet Wraps, 2026 |
| Larger boats | $7,500–$50,000+ The wrap shop’s bands: $7,500–$15,000 for 30–45 feet, and $15,000–$50,000 or more from 45 feet. Ocean Wraps, 2026 guide |
One guide puts the labor at 1.5 to 2.5 hours per running foot of hull on a full wrap, and film at $2.50 to $4.00 per square foot IPD Boat Graphics, September 2026. Sharp chines, stepped hulls and many rub rail cutouts add to the price there, and spring demand can add 5 to 15% to labor. One wrap shop notes that a job covering 40% of the hull will not necessarily cost 40% of a full wrap Ocean Wraps, 2026 guide. No source we found gives a price for removing an old wrap.
Doing it yourself
Stripe kits for a pontoon fence cost about $100: four long and four short stripes, not full coverage Chicago Pontoon Parts FenceForPontoons PontoonStuff. Printed side kits, one piece per side, cost $799.99 and $829 for a 22 foot fence 24 inches tall PickandStick DaVinci Wrap Masters; one seller prints on 3M cast film with a clear laminate PickandStick. Smaller sizes start at $324.99 for a 12 foot fence 16 inches tall PickandStick. A boat graphics shop sells a kit cut for your model from $2,249, either the panels alone or the panels and the top of the pontoons IPD Boat Graphics. A film seller’s DIY vinyl film costs $500 to $900 YesWrap, August 2025.
One kit seller quotes a couple of hours to a day to put one on DaVinci Wrap Masters. A boat graphics shop says to apply film above 50 °F and out of direct midday sun, to take old adhesive off with an eraser wheel rather than sanding, and not to wrap over corrosion, loose rivets or peeling factory graphics IPD Boat Graphics, August 2026.
How we estimate
- A whole fence in gloss, satin or matte vinyl joins a film seller’s $800–$1,500 for a partial wrap of the fencing or select panels (so it sets only the low end), a boat seller’s $1,000–$3,000 for installing a wrap on a typical pontoon and one shop’s $1,275 to $3,000 or more: $1,000–$3,000 YesWrap, August 2025 Novielli Yachts, January 2025 Okoboji Graphics. Higher “full” pontoon prices, $2,500–$5,000 and more, don’t say whether they cover the logs YesWrap, August 2025 Chicago Fleet Wraps, 2026.
- No pontoon source prices metallic, color-shift or chrome film, so they keep the gaps over gloss in the Cybertruck’s prices. An Australian shop, which gives no currency, says metallic and carbon fiber films can raise material costs by 40–60% Omega Graphix, November 2025.
- No pontoon source prices part of a fence, so a partial wrap and accents are shares of the full price, as for the cars on this site. The skirting under the deck counts as an accent: no source prices it.
- The logs aren’t priced: no source prices them, and none says whether a “full” pontoon wrap includes them.
- A film seller puts a pontoon wrap at one to two days and a boat seller at one to three, so a whole fence is shown as 1 to 3 days YesWrap, August 2025 Novielli Yachts, January 2025. We assume a day or two for less.
- No pontoon source prices top-tier film, so the premium-film switch adds the 5–15% found for cars.
- Smaller cities and rural areas, where shop rates tend to be lower. The estimate applies −15%. Expensive metros such as Los Angeles, the Bay Area, New York or Miami. The estimate applies +25%.
- Every line is rounded to the nearest $100, and the total is the sum of the lines, so the breakdown always adds up.
- Printed designs, hull wraps, removal of old graphics and repairs to the fence aren’t included.

Questions
How much does it cost to wrap a pontoon boat?
Wrapping the whole fence of a 22 to 24 foot pontoon, every panel and gate on both sides, typically runs about $1,000 to $3,000 at a US shop in gloss, satin or matte vinyl, and $1,700 to $5,100 in chrome. A film seller puts a partial wrap of the fencing or select panels at $800 to $1,500 and a “full” pontoon wrap at $2,500 to $5,000, and a Chicago shop prices a 20 foot pontoon at $3,500 to $6,500. None of the higher figures says whether the logs are covered.
How much does it cost to wrap a boat?
A fishing magazine puts an installed wrap on a fishing boat hull at $100 to $150 or more per foot of length. By size, shops and guides publish $1,500 to $3,500 for boats up to 20 feet, $2,500 to $4,500 for the hull of an 18 to 24 foot bowrider, $3,500 to $7,500 for 20 to 30 foot center consoles and fishing boats, and $4,500 to $9,500 for 24 to 35 foot cruisers.
Does a pontoon wrap include the logs?
No source we found says, and no shop we found publishes a price for wrapping the logs alone. Shops keep wraps above the waterline, and one boat graphics shop sells its kit either for the panels alone or for the panels and the top of the pontoons. Ask a shop to say in writing what its price covers.
How long does it take to wrap a pontoon?
One to two days at the shop, by a film seller, or one to three by a boat seller. A Lake Havasu dealer quotes 4 hours for the install itself, after about a week from measuring to parts and before 48 hours of curing, and a Chicago shop allows 3 to 5 business days for a full boat wrap.
Can I wrap a pontoon myself?
Yes. Printed kits for a 22 foot fence 24 inches tall cost about $800 to $830, and stripe kits about $100. One film seller’s DIY vinyl film costs $500 to $900. One kit seller quotes a couple of hours to a day to put one on. Take old graphics off and fix loose rivets first.
