Vinyl wrap calculator
How much vinyl to wrap a car or truck? Pick a 3D vehicle and coverage to estimate your order on a 60-inch-wide roll. Full wraps and partial wraps use the same panel measurements as the WrapColor build sheet. It’s free and runs in your browser.

How this car wrap calculator works
WrapColor adds up the outer surfaces covered by the selected film. The Cybertruck is measured from the triangles in its 3D model. The other vehicles use panel areas measured from their exported 3D models.
Panel square feet divided by five gives the length of a 60-inch roll if every inch were used. We multiply that length by the build sheet’s vehicle-specific layout allowance: 2.5 to 2.65 for the Model Y, 2.6 to 3.4 for most BMWs, 2.6 to 3.3 for the M5, 3.2 to 3.9 for the Cybertruck, 2.75 to 3.7 for the golf cart, and 1.15 to 1.5 for the pontoon. This allows for trimming, edges and film left over between panels.
The layout allowances are calibrated against published full-wrap ranges from Elite Wrappers, Raxtify, CarWrap.style, CWD, YesWrap, Grove Park Golf and YesWrap’s pontoon guide. The optional extra 10% or 20% follows Elite Wrappers’ advice for new installers.
This is a planning estimate from a simplified 3D model. It is not a cut plan or a guarantee that a panel fits across the roll. Partial wraps use the same allowance as the full body. Directional film, seams, deep recesses and installation errors can need more film. Confirm panel dimensions and the order with your installer.
Full body and partial coverage
Full body covers the model’s painted or stainless body panels. Mirror caps, separate trim, wheels and door jambs are excluded. Choose a partial section or a single part to measure that coverage. A glass roof has no vinyl roof option. The pontoon’s “Fence wrap (all panels)” covers its fence panels and gates. It excludes logs and skirting; the golf cart measures its painted body shells.
For vehicles we do not have in 3D, measure the panels and ask your installer for a layout. For installed prices, use the wrap cost guide. To compare colors, use the car wrap visualizer. When you’ve chosen, ask a local shop for a quote.
Questions
How much vinyl do I need to wrap a car or truck?
Choose your vehicle and coverage above. The calculator uses measured surfaces from that vehicle’s 3D model, then applies the same layout allowance as the WrapColor build sheet. The result is an estimate on a 60-inch-wide roll. Ask your installer to confirm the order.
Does the estimate include waste?
Yes. The order length includes a vehicle-specific layout allowance for trimming, edges and offcuts. You can add 10% or 20% for practice. The measured panel area is shown separately from the roll area.
What does a full body wrap include?
It covers the model’s stainless or painted body panels. Separate trim, mirror caps, wheels, door jambs and glass are excluded. Single-panel choices use the same model measurements. A glass roof has no vinyl roof option.
How are yards and rolls calculated?
The estimated length rounds up to whole feet. Divide feet by three and round up for yards. Divide feet by your selected roll length and round up for roll count. A 60-inch-wide roll is five feet wide, so each linear foot contains five square feet of film.
